As reported in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Yumbii Korean-Mexican-Southern truck has both its permits (health and police), the first truck to succeed in that respect.
These pictures snapped on Spring Street at Tech Square show that our police force loves street food and enjoys it responsibly! Victory is near for all likeminded entrepreneurs!

Don’t you love it when your favorite voice on NPR (that of Kai Ryssdal) discusses your favorite topic and does a well-researched piece on the food-truck economy–who’s behind it and what makes a successful food truck.
You can hear the story, titled “Food Truck Nation: Photo Gallery,” on the Marketplace website.
Would-be entrepreneurs will learn that they have to clear at least $200 a day to stay on the road and that fortunes are being made one day at a time dishing out Philly cheesesteaks and Korean tacos!

Given the chance to decide between a candidate who likes street food and one who is mum on the subject, go for the one who will make delicious things happen.
Joan Garner, candidate for Fulton County Commissioner District 6, showed up at the Urban Picnic in front of the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. If elected, she will align herself with Kwanza Hall and support legislation freeing up opportunities for the food truck community to thrive in the city of Atlanta.
Look at Ms. Garner moving between the Yumbii Korean taco truck, the popsicle cart of the King of Pops, and Hayley Richardson’s adorable Artichoke Bliss tricycle cart and follow your intuition: the woman loves food and supports young entrepreneurs. Vote for her August 10 (or early, August 2-6) in the runoff election for District 6, which includes much of intown Atlanta.

The best little improvised dining room in town belongs to Hector Santiago of Pura Vida, who gets his staff to drag a heavy wooden table and some chairs across the street and sets up a tent in the parking lot at the corner of Blue Ridge and North Avenue, one block south of Ponce de Leon.
What’s on the menu? chicken burritos wrapped in newspapers, agua frescas, and Mexican pop.
Look at the burritos being made and admire the contraption (typical Hector-the-Handyman) for displaying them upright.
The stand is open Saturdays and Sundays from noon until “the chicken runs out.”
By the way, Pura Vida is starting a lunch program next Tuesday, July 27, selling Latin gourmet sandwiches out of the side door of the building. Super Pan sandwiches will include Pork Belly Coconut Buns, a Chipotle BBQ Beef Sandwich, Jamon Serrano on house made Spanish Coca Bread with manchego cheese & date-marcona almond butter, and more.

“I really support restaurants and see them as transformative devices for neighborhoods,” this enlightened (and well dressed) politician declared, adding, “We need to roll out the welcome mat for businesses, let people know Boston is a business-friendly city, embrace innovation. Food trucks are welcome.”
Also, Boston’s first Food Truck Festival is to take place August 8 in the South End.
